A month in review

Not a whole lot has been going on this month. I think Spring has finally decided to visit. It has been a beautiful weekend so far. Yesterday, Mandy and I went to the fiber festival in Wooster. It was a great experience. I got a couple great skeins of yarn and a sense that I need to learn how to spin. I finished my scarf for ISE6 and felt that my pal might not like the color so I start a new one and am half way done unless a miracle happens today She will get the first one. Still not doing much knitting, work is just to crazy.

Lets see, not a whole lot has been going on. Its finally getting nice out and I have set knitting aside to go fishing. I have got two packages in the mail.Can't take pictures cause I dropped my camerea and it is now broke. One from TTknits It totally rocked and she totally out did herself. And one from Yarnzie, both on ravelry, which had some really cool stuff and fabric from Devon United Kingdom in it. I loved both packages so much. Both , which really is exciting, had hand knit socks in them now i own three pairs. (I think I already wore them out, been wearing one pair one day washing them then wearing the next pair) I so want to make more for myself but hate the time that it takes with little needles I have only finished one pair for myself. I have been dying to make monkey socks and a pair of log cabin socks. Maybe one of these days.

I got everything together for my favorite color swap ready to go. Lots of Goodies 5 skeins of hand dyed sock yarn by me, 3 project bags, a needle case, some candy and other little things. Hope she enjoys.

We Got Babies

Our cat Snickers finally had her babies. She had six little cuties. I am now officially the meanest mom that walks the face of the earth because Jake insists that he need needs one more cat and I informed him that we have way to many animals as it is. (Note to self: Make appointment to get cat fixed) Lets see I haven't been doing alot of knitting lately just haven't really been in the mood to do it. I have dyed quite a bit a yarn though. I dyed 5 for my favorite color swap pal, 2 for my scarf for ISE6 scarf, and 6 others that I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with yet. I've also been busy making Jake's blue bird costume for his school play and making lots of bags while I have the sewing machine out. Lets see I also just start making candles too(husbands idea). I guess he thinks I don't have enough hobbies. Soon I will put up pictures as soon as I find my Camera. (IF it wasn't for disorganization, I would have on organization at all.)LOL

Wow! What a great thing a wishlist. In one of my swaps I found that my pal had a wish list, me being a little DUH at times didn't really know what one was. After checking hers out I found a lot of good ideas for her that i know that she will love instead of sending her something that she would never want or use. So I made one too. I Shipped my HSS3 package

Yea! I shipped my HSS3 package and it should arrive to its new home today. I can't wait till she gets it. I was so excited to get it in the mail. I bought a chest and stained it then filled it with all kinds of goodies. Her socks in her house colors, sock yarn, a keychain sock blocker, lots of harry potter candy, 2 pairs of needles from knit picks, some patterns and some candles. I hope she enjoys it.

Yea I Got A Package

Yea!! I received my package in the mail today from the magic yarn ball swap. Everything in it was wonderful(especially the chocolate). Thank you so much Indulgence I enjoyed everything so much. As you see no chocolate bar in picture, It's already been devoured. I can't wait for another swap.

A quiet weekend

Not to bad only 10 inches, but enough to keep me inside all weekend. With the time I had I was able to get my Magic yarn ball done for my Newbie kit Swap and my last sock for Hss3 was put on hold when my husband actually asked me to make him something. He has never asked for anything so I had to start on it right away. After digging in my stash I came up with this yarn I dyed myself. So here it is .

I was excited to get it done. It took alot longer then I thought so if we don't get anymore snow its ready for next winter. And last a picture of my package getting ready to leave on Monday hopefully i did it right and hopefully she likes it.
I put it in a basket because my balls ended up looking like eggs. LOL Did I mention I hope she likes it. Its my first swap project being sent so I'm on pins and needles.

Sick of snow

Ugh! I am so tired of snow. We are projected to get another 3-9 inches tonite on top of the 3 inches of snow and ice in my yard already from Wed. Since I have the house all nice and clean from then, kids all gone for the weekend except Jake, and hubby working all weekend, I can get some some projects of the needles and get my HSS3 package ready to go in the mail along with my magic yarn ball package. Hopefully all will go according to plan.

I've always been so jealous of my bf when i see all the wonderful packages that see gets in the mail from all the swaps she does, that i have finally got the nerve to join some myself. Since I have joined the first at the beginning of Feb. I felt confident that I could probably do another and another and yet another. I think I have become addicted. The first and were it all started Harry Potter sock swap, socks almost done and everything ready to go got til April 15 and my pal seems like a great person. The second, Magic Yarn ball Swap, this sounds like so much fun nothing i ever heard of before. The third, favorite color swap, I love all colors and shades(except yellow and orange due to my 8 yr olds new chose of room color). And last but certainly not least the international scarf swap 6, from this i will be receiving my first hand made scarf. I'm so excited, I've never made a scarf for myself. Well i suppose better get the kids up and ready for school. Did I mention I'm excited about these swaps? lol

So I thought that I would share a little bit more about me. I am relatively new to knitting so I think that I am between beginner to intermediate. I have recently joined two swaps debating a third. I am very excited about this but also very nervious that I am doing everything right always thinking have I got enough to send, should I send more, what if I'm a bad pal, what if I don't knit good enough, what if my pal hates everything and on and on. So I think that I have slightly over done it for these but I soon will find out. Lets see what else can I say about me, I often find it hard to talk about myself (often call my best friend to tell me what to write lol). Right now I have five projects in the works 1. a basic hat made with brown sidar baby bamboo and pink and brown cascade fun 2. a pair of fingerless gloves made with Noro silk garden 3. A poncho made with all alpaca and some trendsetter eyelash 4. "secret" socks for HSS3 Pal 5. a spiral sock made with paca peds and blue sidar baby bamboo enough to keep me busy for now but I will probably end up casting on yet another before finishing any of them. Well Better go watch the news and see how much snow gonna get tonite, I hate winter. Bye for now
